Impersonation is the highest form of flattery…

Recently I’ve found myself working on a few blogs (Oh how I cringe at that word!)

For starters I’ve been working on trying to takw the newsletter that I do for Olivejar to the net.  Shortly after I began publishing one as a journal on my adventures in home buying, as well as one for my 365 movies in a year project.

So anyway, I went and Googled “miscellaneousdebris” the other day to see just where I am in the world of search results these days, and much to my surprise I apparently had offspring!

Now I admittedly yoinked the name from Primus 10 years after the release of their album.  According to the Wayback Machine, Miscellaneous Debris (as we all knew and loved) existed from 24 December 2000 to 07 February 2003.  In the early days I must have ran the forum under subdomain, probably of geminione.com, as I’m claiming the MD community was born in 2000, whereas the domain miscellaneousdebris.com was not registered until late 2002.  Anyway…

The oldest existing, verifiable history for another Miscellaneous Debris domain, is MiscDebris.net.  WHOIS and Wayback Machine both agree that this domain was not born until 2006.  Well after I had come and gone.

The top hit (non-wiki) is a subdomain (miscellaneousdebris.sitesled.com), and only has content going back to 2007.  The other of note above me, miscellaneousdebris-dingus.blogspot.com also only has content as far back as 2007.

While I have no desire to bring Misc back to what it was, not to mention that it’s usefulness has been replaced by the likes of Facebook, Myspace, and Friendster, I think I’ll keep this around.

Hopefully updated on a regular basis.

Hopefully with some of the traffic from the old days.

Don’t be a stranger.
