I would not classify this as a defeat, but I’m reluctant to announce that we are putting our house hunting adventures on hold for the next 12 months or so.
Despite the fact that the mortgage on the house would be less than the rent that I have never been late on, and despite the fact that I’m able to provide a considerable down payment, every lender I’ve spoken to is not interested in issuing me a mortgage.
With Olivejar showing a profit in 2008, and most likely a profit in 2009, we should be back on track by this time next year.
Danielle and I really appreciate all the assistance, advice, and guidance our family and friends have given us the past six months.
I’m a firm believer that things happen for a reason, so maybe this is for the better.
